Barrisol  Ross Lovegrove Collaboration
The collaboration between the Research and Development team of Barrisol Normalu and the renowned British designer Ross Lovegrove led to the creation of uniquely designed lighting fixtures, featuring organic and distinctive forms. This groundbreaking work earned Barrisol Normalu the prestigious RED DOT Design Award in 2015.
The unique characteristics of Barrisol stretch ceilings, combined with high-quality raw materials, visionary design by Lovegrove, and the expertise of Barrisol’s design and execution team, captivated the RED DOT jury. The award was ultimately granted to Ross Lovegrove for his remarkable contribution.
The collection designed by Lovegrove reflects a perfect balance between organic and ethnic forms. The quality and flexibility of Barrisol’s stretch membrane and structure enabled the creation of nature-inspired lighting objects that not only provide exceptional ambient lighting but also enhance the acoustic performance of the space.
Thanks to this innovative design, Barrisol Normalu S.A.S. was also honored with the Belgium Building Award in 2015, presented by the Prime Minister of Belgium.
The award jury praised the harmonious integration of organic lighting volumes, the technical excellence used to improve room acoustics, and the LED lighting system embedded in the specially designed tubular profiles.
